For Volunteer School

Welcome to For Volunteer School

The Write Connect invites Mainstream Schools such as yours to participate as partner schools for Special Schools looking to mobilise volunteer writers for their special needs examinees.

Special needs students who are unable to write their exams due to physical or cognitive challenges are allowed the facility of a writer (also called a scribe or amanuensis) by the Education Board.

You can help by enrolling your students that are keen to serve as volunteer-writers. As per Education Board rules, middle or senior school students from Grades VII to Grade XI can qualify as writers as long as they are younger than the examinee.

Benefits for Volunteers:

  • Serving as a volunteer and trustee of someone else's educational success will help your students build self-esteem, gain empathy, and forge authentic peer-to-peer connections.
  • In recognition of their selfless contribution as a writer, the Special School will issue the volunteer student a Certificate upon completion of their service.
  • The “gift of writing” offered by volunteer-writers might seem insignificant but its impact on both the giver and receiver is profound!!
